 Lady Olga Maitland - ABBC


Lady Olga Maitland launched the Algeria British Business Council in partnership with Arslan Chikhaoui in 2005.  This followed a UK Algeria trade conference in Algiers  where Lady Olga was the opening keynote speaker.  The launch led to a one on one meeting with H.E the President of the Republic of Algeria,M.  Abdelazizi Bouteflika followed by meetings with the then Prime Minister M Ahmed Ouyhia a nd the Minister for Water Resources (today prime Minister M sellal) and indeed all the other senior ministers.  In 2009 the ABBC was formally launched in London supported by the then British Ambassador to Algeria Mr Andrew Henderson.  Sir Sherard Cowper-Coles - ABBC


Sherard joined HSBC in 2013 as Senior Advisor to the Group Chief Executive, and was appointed Group Head of Government Affairs in 2015.  He is Chairman of HSBC Bank Oman, and a Director of HSBC Bank Egypt.  From 2011 to 2013, he worked for BAE Systems.  Earlier he spent over 30 years in the British Diplomatic Service, finishing his career as Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan.  Sherard chairs the UK Financial Inclusion Commission, and sits on the Boards of the China-Britain Business Council and Asia House.


Riad Fechkeur


Born in Laghouat , Algeria , in 1971, famed entrepreneur Riad Fechkeur, has been  raised up in Hassi Messaoud,(the oil & gas hub of Algeria) what exposed him at the early stage of his life to the Oil & Gas Industry. Riad Fechkeur is also an active member at the 'World Economic Forum' for MENA region, he successfully introduced the group so that it became a part of the Global Growth Companies; Board member of the ABBC (Algerian British Business Council) and Member of the business Leadership Forum of Algeria (Forum des Chefs d’entreprises).  Arslan Chikhaoui - ABBC


Arslan Chikhaoui, born in 1962 in Algeria, is currently Executive Chairman of the Algiers-based consultancy & studies centre “NSV”. He holds Degrees in international relations and economics from Berkeley University.  He further specialized in Government Affairs at the FSI; in Bio-security at MESIS. He has served as Senior Advisor to the Algerian Institute for Strategic Studies (1991-1994) and Senior Coordinator of the Development Aid and Cooperation Programs for Algeria (1982-1990). MORE...

 Noel Brehony - ABBC


Dr. Noel Brehony CMG is Chairman of Menas Associates. A former diplomat and Director of Middle East Affairs for Rolls-Royce, he has been visiting Algeria since 1988.  He has been President of the British Society for Middle East Studies and the Council for British Research on the Levant. He is on the Advisory Board of the London Middle East Institute at SOAS and has served in the boards of the British Saudi and British Egyptian Business Councils. Menas Associates produces specialist reports on Algeria and other Arab and African countries and offers a range of consultancy services to its clients.


 Selina Langtry White - ABBC


Over 40 years in the aviation industry. 18 years as Senior Cabin Crew/Head of Cabin Staff for British Airways and a major charter airline. Four years experience in overseas contracting and Head of Overseas Personnel for a leading UK Tour Operator. Six year maximum term on the Civil Aviation Authority funded Air Transport Users Council, the latter part served as Chair of the Safety and Security Sub-Committee. 19 years on the Gatwick Airport Consultative Committee Passenger Services Sub-Committee, Member of the Security group and leader of the Business and Premium Passenger group. MORE...

 Khaled Mamour - ABBC


Post Education (PhD + MBA) in England, Khaled has filled Senior technical as well as Managerial positions within University (Sheffield University) as a post-Doctoral researcher, ALSTOM (Major Infrastructure Projects) as a Design Engineer, RENISHAW (Precision Engineering) where he started as a Senior Design Engineer to later become Global Solutions Business Development Manager, IBB (Institute of Independent Businesses) as a Senior Consultant, SHAWCOR Group ( Corrosion Protection and pipeline products and services) as Vice President, and finally AMEC Foster Wheeler as Vice President for AFRICA. MORE...

 Maya Boumedine - ABBC


Maya holds a degree in Communication and Public Relations from the University of Algiers and is fluent in English, Arabic and French. She is currently the Country Manager for the Algeria British Business Council and CEO for ABBC Algeria. She has worked in several trade and embassy positions in the past focused on trade facilitation, she joined the Algeria British Business Counci in 2013. She  is  also the country manager for TVET UK in Algeria, a leading education trade association, she supports TVET UK locally with educational partnerships between UK based colleges, universities and equipment suppliers and the Ministries in Algeria.
