Mowgli foundation & The Algeria British Business Council: "The Power of Mentoring"



The Mowgli Foundation and ABBC Algeria British Business Council invite you to the first ever mentoring awareness event entitled ‘The Power of Mentoring’, to mark and celebrate Mowgli-MedafCo's 3rd year of supporting and empowering over 330 Algerian entrepreneurs and leaders, through Mowgli mentoring programs and initiatives funded by the British Foreign & Commonwealth Office in Algeria.


The event will take place on Tuesday 13th January 2015, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM in Algiers at the following address: Immeuble KPMG, lot 94 zone d’affaires Beb Ezzouar, Alger (behind the Mobilis building). You will find the map here.


The event will be attended by CEOs of the key companies and corporations in Algeria along with graduated mentors and entrepreneurs who are eager to share their mentoring journeys with the audience. Kindly note that the British Ambassador to Algeria H.E Andrew Noble will be attending the event.

This is the first time that such an initiative has been held in Algeria, hosted by Tony Bury Mowgli’s Founder and Chairman and Lady Olga Maitland, Chairman of the Algeria British Business Council (ABBC). The event will provide a unique moment for businesses to hear first-hand about the value and impact of mentoring in Algeria. You can read more about mentoring here.

Tony Bury, Mowgli’s founder and chairman,


Tony Bury was born in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, educated in the UK, but has spent the majority of his life living and working overseas, particularly in the Middle East. Bury is a serial entrepreneur and has established 18 start-ups. Having exited from the majority of these businesses, he still maintains private equity shareholdings in a range of businesses including consultancy, energy, trading, engineering and industrial services. He recently launched 3sixty Capital, an investment holding company which provides 360° capital investment to established and entrepreneurial ventures that seek and deliver maximum ripple effect impact over and above strong and sustainable commercial returns. In 2008, Bury founded the Mowgli Foundation, an award winning, UK-headquartered mentoring organization in response to the need for job creation and sustainable economic development, particularly in the MENA region and UK. Today the Mowgli Alumni has over 1400+ entrepreneurs and mentors and in December  2012, Mowgli was recognised with the Mohammed bin Rashid Award for Young Business Leaders for the Best Mentor Network in the Arab Region and in 2013 Mowgli co-delivered the Forsa project -a G8 initiative which used mentoring to support young entrepreneurs in six Arab countries in transition. Bury is also a governor of Prior Park Educational Trust, President of the Prior Park Alumni (PPA) and a speaker at various conferences and events including TEDxBristol in 2011.
